Dickriding Authority won't get you Laid.
We must find a way to incentivize long-term investment ASAP, or we need to find another system. We have to start by demanding these changes, not asking kindly for the powers that be to grant them to us.
They aren't gonna see you on Twitter defending them. They aren't a family member. They are tools of the wealthy to exert their influence on peasants (that's you and me). Corporations took the leadership mantle during the 3rd Crusade. The Eastern Roman Empire and Constantinople was conquired because boat-makers needed paid sooner rather than later. Once business interests of Venice assisted in the creation of the Latin Empire, they became the kingmakers.
There was no looking back. Through a slow ~700 year process we have seen more companies over-take nations in total "production". They are the "meaningful" organization of labor at this time. They were always about extracting the profits of the laborer, but then we let the MBA nerds "optimize".
For anyone not involved in a major corporate organization, optimization translates to: squeezing every last drop of revenue out of the current available (human) resources. Revenue Operations sole duty is to improve revenue while introducing minimal costs. The issue is when this comes with workforce/labor cuts. Producing the same amount of work with less people is not a novel "genius" tactic. It is damaging to your brand and the community.
Community services should not need to "leak" 6% or more of the profits to people who happened to have the access to capital at the time. We need to be subsidizing these organizations so they may function unhindered by whether they break even.
Community services are an investment, but a very long-term one. Our system incentivizes short-term indirect returns only. We must find a way to incentivize long-term investment ASAP, or we need to find another system. We have to start by demanding these changes, not asking kindly for the powers that be to grant them to us.
Businesses are oppositional to individuals and how we want to live. They only want to provide a solution if they can get something out of it RIGHT NOW instead of witnessing the benefits over generations. Haymarket wasn't bloodless. Blair Mountain wasn't bloodless. If we want something from the ruling class, we are gonna have to demand/take it.
